Our client is a thriving multi-skilled landscape contracting business based in Hampshire offering an experienced and professional service. They are committed to providing exceptional quality in both their landscaping and maintenance services in central southern England.
Their reputation has been established in all aspects of landscape and maintenance work encompassing schools and colleges, sports fields, LA’s, larger private gardens, hospitals, and retail, industrial and business parks.
They are looking for an enthusiastic Landscape Operative to join them on a full-time basis.
Working as part of a team under the direction of a Landscape Foreman undertaking hard and soft landscape projects for commercial clients.
The work is wide ranging covering ground tasks such as excavations, drainage, subbase together with other landscaping, fencing installations, tree and shrub planting, turfing, and seeding and the like.
Key Skills:
- Having experience of the landscape construction sector, ideally hard works with some soft experience being advantageous.
- Specialist experience in areas such as paving, fencing or play surfaces would be beneficial
- Problem solving and being able to overcome challenges on site
- From time to time need to use a wide range of power tools such as disk saws, drills etc. and to operate many different items of plant including mini excavators, dumpers, rollers
- Ideally hold CSCS and plant operator tickets such as NPORS/LANTRA/CPCS (but if not training will be provided)
- A full clean driving licence is essential, able to drive up to 7.5t and a trailer licence beneficial
General:
The Landscape Operative position is predominately about constructing a wide range of landscape features. The operative will be working within a team of 2 to 4 employees at any one time under the onsite direction and guidance of a Landscape Foreman as well as a Contract Manager.
The company works to a tight geographical area usually travelling under 60 minutes from the base although there may be exceptions for particular clients.
This is also a route for someone who is ambitious to join a progressive company and develop into a role with more responsibility.

Our client is looking for looking for an Experienced Gardener with a real desire and interest in maintaining the extensive grounds of a 30 acre private property in Alresford, Hampshire to exacting standards. The family owned friendly estate comprises 100 acres of farmed land, historic ancient woodland, sweeping parkland and a two acre walled garden designed by one of the country’s leading RHS Gold Medal landscape designers.
The successful applicant will need excellent references and a hard working approach with great attention to detail. In return, the applicant will get the opportunity to be well remunerated and work with a friendly team, who are equally dedicated, in one of the most beautiful privately owned country estates in Hampshire that is maintained to the highest of standards.
A PA1/PA6 spray certificate and chainsaw licence would be preferable but training in both these areas can be offered if necessary. Typically, the role will involve mowing, hedge and topiary cutting, weeding, pruning, pond maintenance, leaf clearing, knowledge of garden machinery. The gardens are not open to the public but do have private charity garden tours during the summer months.
Above all, the successful candidate needs to be trustworthy, conscientious, wanting to work as part of a fantastic team, reliable, physically fit, self-motivated and have a great positive attitude. You must be somebody who can be relied upon to work on their own when the Garden Manager is not on site and the owners are away. A full UK driving licence is essential.
