About the Role:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and horticulturally trained individual to preserve green infrastructures installed and maintained by our client in the South of England. The role will be primarily based across London, with some jobs located further afield, where the maintenance technician will be responsible for ensuring that living walls are thriving and maintained to the highest standard.
Reporting directly to the maintenance manager, and travelling in small teams, the technician will work in accordance with Health and Safety practices, following pre-planned work routes, managing materials effectively and ensuring work is completed in line with company standards. The successful candidate will always represent the company well and demonstrate their values through the work that they do. The working hours for the position are 7am ‘til 4pm, with one hour for lunch.
Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain green infrastructure on site according to design and to the highest standard
- Ensure that jobs are completed in the time allocated identifying issues which prevent on time delivery, make proposals to rectify and escalate as appropriate
- Ensure no short falls in materials
- Ensure no return visits to site by the team are required by ensuring maintenance meet requirements and are delivered to the highest standard
- Provide technical guidance and advice to the team to ensure standards are met with regard to maintenance and provide training as appropriate
- To be a team player and demonstrate the company values in everything that you do
- To build strong working relationships with clients
- Keeping records and completing forms as necessary
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive Horticultural Experience – Over 3 years experience in landscaping/ horticulture is required, preferably with living walls or green infrastructure
- Experience with Irrigation Systems – hands on experience with various types of irrigation systems would be beneficial
- Working at Heights – this is essential to be successful in the role, with harness training a considerable bonus
- The ability to read and understand plans
- Health & Safety Awareness – CSCS card required, along with a safety conscious mindset
- Full UK Driving Licence – a valid and clean licence is essential for site visits. A company vehicle will be available, which can be taken home overnight.
- PA1 and PA6 licenses – desirable but not essential
- IPAF and PASMA training – desirable but not essential

Job Description:
The person appointed as Senior Horticulturalist will be working within a small team of 2-3 working on individual projects reporting to maintenance manager. The successful candidate will be assisting in high end domestic garden maintenance.

Key Skills:
Candidates for this Senior Horticulturalist role must have a dedicated and positive attitude to work with the ability to work in a team but also supervise where needed. The successful candidate will have a keenness to learn and have experience in operating garden machinery with an eye for detail.
Normal hours of work will be 07:30-16:30 with overtime.
