Experienced Gardener/General Assistant (Live In) - EC3573

An experienced Gardener/General Assistant is required to help manage a 12 acre country garden and private estate near Colchester, Essex. The grounds consist of woodland, two paddocks, formal walled garden, orchard, pond and herbaceous borders and very productive vegetable garden. You will be responsible for the garden and grounds with the help of two part-time gardeners. Applicants will need to be practical and willing to turn your hand to anything and have good general plant knowledge. The owner is a very keen gardener herself and has a particular love of the vegetable garden, propagating and potting on plants and would welcome extra help. In addition knowledge of woodland management, lawn maintenance and ability undertake machinery maintenance would be an advantage. Other duties may include occasional driving and ad hoc estate duties. A two bedroom cottage with all expenses paid is available to the appointed person.
