Description of role:
·You will be part of the Garden Services Management Team who are responsible for managing both our Regular and Once-Off garden maintenance services.
·You will be required to communicate directly with clients and to convert enquiries into confirmed business by visiting gardens to meet with clients to discuss their requirements and to sell the Boma’s services.
·To plan and quote for soft landscaping projects and garden maintenance plans
·To work with our Team Leaders and Gardeners to ensure we deliver a high quality service and product.
·To establish regular communication and successful relationships with our clients to ensure they value our service.
·You will be involved in Health and Safety at the Boma and responsibility for ensuring our staff are operating in a safe environment.
·You will be involved in the maintenance and upkeep of our tools and staff training.
Skills & experience required:
·Excellent soft-landscaping and plant knowledge, including pruning techniques
·Ability to quote and present your works to clients
·Ability to manage, train and motivate staff by achieving the respect of your colleagues

Manor Fields is a prestigious private estate in Putney, south-west London. Consisting of 228 flats in fourteen houses, it was built in the 1930’s and was influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.
The 12-acre gardens reflect the Arts and Crafts-style of the buildings, with structured formal hedges and clipped topiary blended with cottage garden perennials to create a soft pastel colour palette. The grounds are located within a conservation area with many native and ornamental mature trees. The elements of the garden include: a woodland glen, main lawn, sunken garden with an ornamental pond, formal bedding, shrub borders, rose garden, herbaceous borders, orchard, greenhouse and shade garden.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic full-time Gardener to join our maintenance and soft-landscaping team, working for a prestigious 12-acre private estate in south-west London. Working hours are 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Within the role the candidate’s duties would include the development and maintenance of the gardens. This is a role for someone with experience of working within the horticulture industry, who wants to be involved with a motivated, innovative company and has the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Duties will include:
- Planting and general aftercare
- Pruning and hedge cutting
- Mowing and lawn care
- Irrigation
- Weeding and border maintenance
- Using horticultural machinery including ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers and backpack blowers
- Leaf and litter clearance and path cleaning
- Glasshouse duties
- Pesticide application
- Work as part of a team as well as independently
The Candidate
Applicants must be experienced and skilled Gardeners with an ability to work alongside others in a private estate setting.
Ideally applicants should hold:
- NVQ Level 2 Horticultural Qualification (essential)
- PA1/6 chemical spraying certificates (essential)
- Good plant knowledge (a plant ident will be required at interview stage)
- Driving license (desirable)
Good communication skills are key, as well as being proactive and cooperative, with the ability to work to deadlines and high standards with minimum supervision. The role will involve interaction with other employees, residents and contractors, so you will ideally be outgoing and friendly.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about plants and gardening and be willing to expand their horticultural knowledge and skills. Further training and learning opportunities will be available.

Job Description:
The Contracts Manager will be experienced enough in landscape construction contract management to be left to their own devices within a week and truly hit the ground running.
They will be responsible for leading all projects, big and small within the London and South East regions. The right candidate will be leading junior contract managers and multiple install teams across several projects simultaneously and so must be flexible and capable of multi-tasking.
Key requirements:
Candidates should have at least 5 years contract management experience of working within the landscape construction industry. He/she needs an excellent knowledge of both the commercial and operational aspects of running a successful project. You must be able to plan the use of your time effectively, be a good team player, and most importantly be driven and motivated.
There will also be a need for the Contracts Manager to work away from their region and stay overnight on occasion. Overnight stays include hotel accommodation with breakfast and dinner paid for.

We are seeking a suitable candidate for a large private National Trust estate in Elmbridge.
The 2 acre garden is currently maintained to a high standard with a formal area of fine lawns, herbaceous borders, shrubberies, over 500 roses, extensive ground cover, hedges and climbing plants and a further 4 acres of private woodland.
The person appointed will be responsible for taking care of all plants, shrubs and overseeing the general smooth running of the gardens and grounds to a high standard.
Additionally the owners of the residence would like to begin woodland planting, which is a mass of area ready for creative input and ideas.
It is a hands-on role but also includes overseeing the work of outside contractors responsible for the lawn care and occasional tree surgery.
It is envisaged that an additional under gardener will be required, and as head gardener you will be expected to manage this person when appointed.
The owners are keen to develop the garden further with perhaps the addition of a greenhouse and vegetable garden. It is therefore important that candidates have good general horticultural knowledge and are able to work closely with the owners in delivering a suitable development plan, including the design of new planting schemes.
