Kitchen Gardener

The Shuttleworth Botanic Garden appreciates the potential of edible gardens for their content, beauty and the stories that they tell. Edible gardens provide valuable opportunities to improve the environment and peoples’ lives by sharing, learning and nurturing. There is now a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the team and oversee the creation and development of this considerable part of the project. The edible gardens will extend to around 5 acres including dry stone wall retained terraces, a young forest garden and areas of undeveloped, gently sloped grassland. The aspiration is to showcase sustainable production of unusual edible plants and herbs applying permaculture principles and using innovative techniques while minimising interventions.
