Main Purposes of Job
To be experienced in retail horticulture with good horticultural knowledge.

To assist in the responsibility for a secure cash handling system in the Garden Centre and ensure that all procedures to maintain site security are carried out by designated members of staff. This to include cashing up as part of your duties.
Learning to use shop EPOS system.
Computer literacy skills are essential here as ordering and goods inwards processes are carried out by using the computer.
To ensure that all new plant area staff members are made aware of company policies and procedures that affect them during working hours.
To undertake special projects as directed by the Manager/Managing Director from time to time.
More specifically in relation to your position to maintain and improve plant displays, quality and awareness in the Centre with a view to increasing overall plant sales, margins and profitability.
To perform any other duties as reasonably required by the garden centre manager from time to time.

* Planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals according to design plans.
* Laying turf and sowing lawns.
* Spreading mulch, compost, and other soil amendments.
* Using and maintaining hand and power tools safely.
* Assisting with general grounds maintenance, including weeding and pruning.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: Previous experience in a professional soft landscaping role is essential. [e.g., 2+ years of experience preferred].
*RHS or equivalent certification would be beneficial.
* Knowledge: A good understanding of plant species, soil types, and horticultural best practices
* Physical Fitness: The ability to handle physically demanding work and to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Driver’s License not essential but preferred
* Team Player: A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Experience within the construction industry is not essential but preferred
* Good time keeping is essential
* CSCS card required
