Led by a multi-award-winning Garden Designer, the business specialises in designing and constructing beautiful domestic gardens that combine contemporary landscaping with naturalistic, cottage-style planting. Every project is tailored to the client’s vision, resulting in unique outdoor spaces that are both functional and visually stunning.
Due to continued business growth and an increasing portfolio of exciting projects, they are now looking to recruit a passionate and motivated Landscape Gardener to join their experienced horticultural team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Landscape Gardener looking to join a highly respected landscaping company. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced horticultural professionals, carrying out both garden maintenance and soft landscaping works, while assisting with the installation of newly designed gardens.
The role offers excellent hands-on experience across a wide variety of domestic landscaping projects, providing the opportunity to expand technical horticultural knowledge, improve practical landscaping skills and gain experience using professional horticultural machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high-end domestic gardens to exceptional horticultural standards.
- Carry out planting, pruning, weeding, mulching and seasonal garden maintenance.
- Assist with the installation of new landscape and garden design projects.
- Maintain herbaceous borders, shrubs, trees and ornamental planting schemes.
- Operate and maintain a variety of horticultural machinery and powered garden equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and site supervisors.
- Follow Health & Safety procedures and maintain safe working practices on site.
- Work independently when required, whilst contributing positively as part of a close-knit team.
Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about horticulture and landscaping. They will enjoy working outdoors, take pride in producing high-quality work and be eager to continue developing their horticultural knowledge and practical skills.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as a Landscape Gardener, Gardener, Grounds Maintenance Operative or within a similar horticultural role.
- Good practical knowledge of plants and general garden maintenance techniques.
- Experience using horticultural machinery and powered garden equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team.
- Punctual, organised and professional in appearance.
- Good practical problem-solving ability and strong work ethic.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
Desirable
- A recognised horticultural qualification (RHS, NVQ or equivalent).
- Experience assisting with landscape construction or garden installation projects.
- A genuine passion for horticulture, planting design and garden craftsmanship.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30am – 5:00pm
- 30-minute lunch break
