Our client is an award-winning garden design and build company, specialising in high-end residential gardens. The company offers a full range of bespoke landscaping services from concept and design through to construction and long-term maintenance. Their comprehensive services encompass bespoke garden designs, construction, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring each project reflects the client’s vision. Notably, they have collaborated with some of the country’s top garden designers, two of whom achieved gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Job Description:
This is a predominantly office-based Project Manager position with regular site visits (typically weekly) to monitor progress, liaise with clients, and ensure projects are delivered to specification.
The role is ideally suited to an experienced Hard Landscape Foreman or Supervisor looking to step away from being fully hands-on, or an existing Project Manager seeking a more structured, less site-intensive role while remaining operationally involved.
You will be responsible for managing projects from quotation through to completion, ensuring financial control, programme delivery, and quality standards are maintained throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Commercial Management
- Manage landscaping projects from initial quotation to final handover
- Prepare detailed project costings and quotations
- Monitor budgets and maintain strong commercial control and profit margins
- Plan upcoming works and manage the project pipeline efficiently
Site & Client Coordination
- Attend regular site meetings with clients, designers, and site teams
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with design specifications and client expectations
- Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders
- Maintain clear communication between office and on-site teams
Team & Operational Oversight
- Oversee 1–2 landscaping teams (typically 3 operatives per team)
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Support teams with logistics, scheduling, and problem-solving
Quality Control & Project Delivery
- Conduct snagging inspections on completed landscaping projects
- Identify and resolve issues proactively
- Ensure consistently high standards of workmanship and finish
Project Scope
- Project values ranging from £40,000 to £300,000
- Managing 1–2 live landscaping projects simultaneously
- Sites located primarily across West London and within the M25
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hard landscaping or landscape construction
- Background as a Hard Landscape Foreman, Supervisor, or Project Manager
- Proven experience managing teams and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and commercial management
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and technical drawings
- Excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
