Client

Our client is an independently minded property developer with multi award winning portfolio of some of the largest urban development projects. They are now seeking a Horticultural Manager to lead and educate the estates teams ensuring works are carried out to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

The Horticultural Manager will be responsible for the portfolio of estates conducting regular inspections and reporting any issues related to plant health, pest infestation or landscape structures. They will be working alongside and educating the residential teams ensure the team is equipped to understand the requirements of the estates landscape and ensure day to day horticultural task are being kept to a high standard.

The head gardener will be able to manage large planning programs and ensuring maintenance and management of the gardens and parks are being carried out to the correct standard and aesthetic appeal.  The Head Gardener will also be monitoring and managing irrigation systems to ensure proper hydrations for all the plants and lawns. The head gardener will provide weekly feedback to the management teams highlighting actions undertaken, issues anticipated and future of works, noting any need for new and replacing of planting and maintenance.

Education/Qualifications/Training:

    • Minimum Level 3 horticulture qualification or minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Head Gardener role or Estate Manager role, or similar.
    • Excellent knowledge of plant care, landscaping techniques and management.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as a team in a dynamic outdoor environment.
    • Experienced in working with third party contractors.
    • Able to communicate with residents in a professional and courteous manner in the estates busy and thriving community.
