Job Description:

Expansion of the company requires the strengthening of the delivery teams on site with the appointment of an additional Hard Landscaper for projects predominantly in and around London. Your role will be to create and maintain a positive and pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organisational effectiveness, communication, and safety.  The person appointed will be part of a small team of landscapers working on individual projects. Your duties will include:

  • Execute the installation of various hardscape elements, such as patios, walkways and outdoor structures, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, plans, and specifications to accurately implement hardscape designs.
  • Prepare job sites by grading, leveling, and clearing debris. Ensure proper drainage solutions are implemented where necessary.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including landscape foreman and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences, provide updates on project progress, and address any concerns or questions.
  • Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment and tools, such as compactors, saws, and other machinery used in hardscape installation.
  • Maintain accurate records of project details, including materials used, time spent, and any variations from the original plan.
  • Ensure that site operations are carried out in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy.

They are a leader in their sector, and they provide an exemplary service to their clients. Growth in the aftersales and client care division has increased the need for our client to strengthen their project delivery teams with the appointment of a Site Supervisor to work on projects mainly in West London, however, this does occasionally extend into the home counties.

Job Brief

The main responsibilities of the Site Supervisor will be to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day management of the project together with the Site Manager, in order to do this the successful candidate will be an organised and efficient team member being able to manage a team effectively, including direct employees, sub-contract labour, agency workers, specialist sub-contractors in relation to steelworks, lighting, water-features and many more as well as other trades as required.

It is important for the successful candidate to be able to create and maintain a positive and enjoyable working environment with effective communication skills whilst being aware of the safety of the team around.

Our client creates exemplary and quality plans, and the Site Supervisor will need to be able to deliver these plans to a high standard. Additionally, as the Site Supervisor role, you will be required to assist in staying up to date with recording the progress of projects on site, timesheets of employees and sub-contractors and stay aligned with the work programme for projects by ensuring that materials arrive on site on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience working with a variety of office software, for example, mail tools and Excel spreadsheets.
  • To be an enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn new skills in a creative working environment.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in landscaping, specifically within the luxury market
  • CSCS card.
  • SSSTS would be advantageous however training can be provided.
  • Be able to assist in the management of a team between 5 and 15 members.
  • Good communicative skills with a natural proficiency in written and verbal communication.

  • A high level of IT proficiency, particularly with Word and Outlook. Experience of Sketchup will be hugely beneficial although not essential.  You will also be required to use SAGE for generating quotes, training will be provided if necessary.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Communicate professionally at all times.
  • A clean, full, driving licence.

-Excellent horticultural knowledge, from plant identification to pest identification and pruning techniques

-Exceptional attention to detail, be creative and have the highest standards of horticultural practice

-You will take a plant identification test during the interview, training on plant knowledge if required.
