We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our multi award-winning client as a Soft Landscaper. This is an important role within the Construction division of our clients business, working with the soft landscaping team to bring design-led horticultural visions to life. The successful candidate will need to be dynamic, positive and highly motivated. They will also be a collaborative team worker, able to take direction, whilst ensuring the delivery of consistent quality work in line with project specifications and deadlines. The candidate will need to support the Soft Landscaping Foreman, as well as working cooperatively with hard landscaping colleagues, designers, sub-contractors and other stakeholders

Responsibilities include:
  • Actioning site design plans to ensure the horticultural elements are delivered as prescribed
  • Maintaining and managing all horticultural elements on site to ensure sustained good health
  • Turfing and its maintenance
  • Tree planting - working alongside specialists where required

Be responsible for stock control within your department including ordering, stocking up, receiving of products following the required procedure, quality control and clearance of slow-moving lines.

Ensure that product prices are in line with budgeted gross margin figures.

Essential requirements
  • Recognised horticultural qualification with the ability to demonstrate good plant knowledge – this is a strong preference, but not essential if experience is proven
  • Driving licence as sites may not be accessible via public transport
  • CSCS card
  • Competent in using the appropriate power tools where required
  • Certificates in spraying (PA1 PA6)
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety and implementing procedure

They need to have a proven record of accomplishment in delivering high-end soft landscaping projects in line with exacting specification.

They will also need to be a collaborative team worker, able to lead a soft landscaping team, whilst liaising effectively with other stakeholders such as landscape architects, garden designers, hard landscaping foremen, subcontractors, and clients. The candidate will need to organise horticultural resources alongside the overall Site Foreman and the company’s Plant Procurement Specialist to deliver an effective and timely service. Ensuring superb quality in terms of plant / tree health whilst on site is key to realising the garden vision.

Responsibilities include:
  • Reading and actioning site design plans to ensure the horticultural elements are delivered as prescribed
  • Managing landscaping staff on site
  • Reporting to the Contracts Manager and Contracts Director with proven ability to deliver on business objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Liaising and communicating with all external stakeholders whilst sensitively managing those relationships
  • Maintaining and managing all horticultural elements on site to ensure sustained good health
  • Turfing and its maintenance
  • Tree planting - working alongside specialists where required

Requirements for the role include, but are not limited to:

Gardener

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dedicated gardener at a large private estate in Highgate, North London. The position is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to become a full time permanent role.

The estate extends to 11 acres and is one of London’s biggest private gardens. The garden consists of a lake, a variety of mature and young trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, extensive lawns and a large water feature.

The successful candidate will join a team of eight and working closely with the head gardener they will develop and maintain the garden to a high horticultural standard. Responsibilities will include planting, pruning, soil cultivation and bed preparation, mulching, propagation, weeding and lawn care. Our client is looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, flexible, responsible and proactive, and have a high sense of integrity and discretion. A hands-on approach and meticulous attention to detail are also essential qualities.

In addition, the horticultural side, the gardener would be required to assist in maintaining the garden structures such as sheds, fences, pathways (including leaf blowing and power washing) and ensure all garden machinery are properly cared for.

Good plant knowledge and all-round horticultural skills is required, and it would be preferable but not essential for applicants to hold a recognised horticultural qualification. Experience of working in a large garden of a similar nature would also be advantageous. PA1/PA6 spraying certificates and chainsaw certificates would be desirable, though not essential as training can be provided if necessary. Ability to operate and maintain a range of garden machinery and good knowledge of irrigation systems would be an advantage.

Applicants will have the opportunity to develop their skills and experience in a garden which is maintained to the highest aesthetic and horticultural standards. Some weekend work and extra hours may be required from time to time.

We are looking for a full-time gardener to work within our small landscape gardening company. Our work is based in North London, Barnet and Hertfordshire. 

Our company name has been in operation for over 20 years and primarily offers garden maintenance to domestic clients. Having recently taken over leadership of this small firm, we are excited to expand our range of services to include hard and soft landscaping, irrigation, and to serve commercial contracts.

You will be expected to work as a member of a two-person team, or independently, to carry out garden and grounds maintenance work. The role and responsibilities of the gardener will include appropriate pruning, lawn care, keeping garden cleanliness, and other such garden maintenance activities. You will be expected to have reasonable plant knowledge, to include knowing when and how to carry out appropriate pruning of a range of different plants. You will be expected to deal with minor requests from clients and to maintain a garden design through regular maintenance.

You must be conscientious, polite, and well-presented. You must be able to work under your own initiative and have a positive attitude toward your work, your colleagues, and the clients. You will be expected to have experience in a gardening role. 

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. A Level 2 horticultural qualification is desirable but not essential. PA1 & PA6 are desirable. 

The position is full time (40 hours per week) with the first job starting at 8am finishing at approximately 3.30pm and the salary offered is up to £21,500 depending on experience. The position comes with a van, which can be used to commute to work. The position is open and we would require the right person to start as soon as possible.

Their installations include fresh flowers, real plants, replica plants and outside plants. They also install and maintain green walls, including living walls and preserved moss.

Due to continued expansion they have a requirement for an Interior Horticultural Technician to cover both London and Leeds.

Job Description:

As Customer Service and Installation Technician you will maintain a 5 ‘S’* system of work in the workshops, company vehicles and warehouse. You will be required to carry out client site visits to undertake installation and maintenance of our products as instructed.

You will be required to maintain your company vehicle ensuring it is clean both internally and externally and in a roadworthy condition at all times including carrying out weekly vehicle checks.

You must be able to adapt to changing schedules in order to fulfill customers’ needs at short notice and work to the required deadlines. The role requires a to drive to succeed attitude in order to improve customer satisfaction, maximise customer retention and increase profitability.

You will be required to work from The Company’s Leeds HQ for approximately 2 days every week. (Premier Inn accommodation will be provided). During this time you will also be involved in team meetings, training sessions and 121’s with your line manager.

You will work within the The Company’s standards and values as set out in the Customer Standards Manual and Employees Handbook.

Your performance will be measured against agreed KPI targets.

  • Assist with receiving goods including the operation of a forklift truck (if qualified)
