Our Garden Centre has a unique store design and product range with exceptional standards in visual merchandising. We offer a broad range of plants, indoor and outdoor furniture, and gifts, alongside a well-established Food Hall and Restaurant serving delicious teas, coffees and baking daily.

As Garden Centre Manager, you’ll actively support Managers & colleagues to create an inspiring destination Garden Centre, deliver outstanding customer experience, with an ability to ensure that our retail standards and services levels consistently exceed expectations.

Key duties include:

  • Inspiring and developing the existing team of Managers and colleagues to shape and drive the Garden Centre forward.
  • Proactively developing opportunities within the local area to maximise sales and increase profit.
  • Resolving customer issues and complaints to bring about effective resolutions.
  • Manage the promotion of the Simpsons brand in store by developing good local public relations and orchestrating the implementation of strategic corporate initiatives to ensure that customers and colleagues have a consistent experience of the Simpsons brand.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to introduce exciting offers and events.

We are keen to hear from you if you have a background in Retail Management, especially within a family run/independent business. If you have excellent communication skills and a passion for people, then this is the place for you.

Plant Manager

About the Role

This Plant Manager role will see you predominantly focussed on purchasing and stock management and the principles around this across both sites. You will be capable of leading a team through effective motivation, learning and engagement. You will also be able to maintain and develop key supplier relationships as well as continually improving the plant area. You will also meet with the management team regularly to ensure the smooth running of the site.

The Ideal Candidate

This role would be suited to someone who has a strong plant background and a passion for retail and customers. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Strong stock management knowledge is desirable. Communication is a key aspect of the role, as you will be working closely with the team around you to coach them in better ways of working.
