We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plantarea Manager to join our family run, independent garden centres in the Aberdeenshire area and the Highlands of Scotland. We have grown significantly over the years, achieving remarkable success by offering a diverse range of plants year-round, alongside unique garden sundries, clothing, gifts, leisure goods, and a popular restaurant.
As the Plantarea Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and developing our thriving plant sales department. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and a small team of dedicated staff
- Driving plant sales and supporting related initiatives
- Providing face-to-face sales assistance and managing customer enquiries
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure well-stocked departments that meet customer demand
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, merchandising, and pricing strategies
Your role is integral to maintaining our commitment to exceptional customer service, offering friendly and informed advice that has been a cornerstone of our success. Your expertise will ensure continued customer satisfaction and uphold our distinguished company reputation.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong horticultural knowledge and experience
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience in a garden centre or similar retail environment
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a team
- Energetic, creative, and positive attitude
- Excellent customer engagement skills
- Good physical fitness for working on your feet and handling heavy lifting
- Strong IT and numeracy skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
