Duties include:
- To maintain and improve the Gardens at Merton College, Merton Annexes and other designated estate properties within Oxford.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Undergardener to work alongside a Head Gardener on a stunning private property near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.
The 15-acre property encompasses a walled garden, kitchen garden, herbaceous garden, an orchard, swimming pool, seating areas and surrounding paddocks. Candidates must be enthusiastic gardeners, honest, reliable and capable of delivering an extremely high standard of work.
The new Undergardener will work under the direction of the Head Gardener but must be able to work alone when required. Spray certificates (PA1/PA6) would be an advantage, as would experience and competence with mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers and blowers.

Based in the prestigious University Parks, we have an exciting new opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join our management team. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and Operations Technical Officer and will be responsible for the supervising and management of a range of horticultural operations.
The role will include:
- Responsibility for the effective daily supervision and work allocation of staff carrying out a broad range of grounds and garden maintenance tasks within the Parks, the University estate and across the customer sites.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head/Sole Gardener to play a leading role on this structured, yet soft, private estate, designed by one of the country’s foremost garden designers. The newly designed site is in an implementation phase and now requires a Head/Sole Gardener to join the project on a permanent, long-term basis. This role will suit experienced Head/Senior Gardeners who possess excellent horticultural knowledge, some general estate maintenance experience and a positive, flexible and committed hands-on approach to their work.
Set within a rural 50-acre site, the formal 2-acre garden has been designed in such a way that pays compliment to the surrounding landscape through intelligent plant use and spacial consideration. Though formal in areas, the completed project will have a natural feel that reflects the history of the site as well as the intended new use as a family home. The incorporation of orchards, multiple meadow areas and soft ornamental planting ensures the imposing contrast of a garden to its surrounding landscape, is refreshingly and impressively avoided. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, physically fit and hands-on Head Gardener to lead a small friendly team on a stunning and unique estate in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, on a full-time basis. Applicants should be experienced Head or Senior Gardeners with a thorough understanding of seasonal horticultural practices, have excellent plant knowledge and ideally, academic horticultural qualifications at RHS Level 3 or above/equivalent. This stunning eight-acre garden was designed by Isabel & Julian Bannerman in 1998 and has now become the home of a renowned biennial sculpture exhibition. There are some smaller open days and group visits but for much of the time, the garden is private and quiet.
The successful applicant will work alongside and manage a small team of part-time staff, freelancers and occasional volunteers. The Head Gardener will work closely with the owner and must be sympathetic to the original garden design.

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced grounds person, with specialist knowledge of turf/lawn care, to join a team of eight gardeners on a prestigious Tom Stuart-Smith designed estate in Oxfordshire.
The historic 74-acre property, currently being extensively re-designed by Tom Stuart-Smith, boasts an arboretum and surrounding parkland with two large lakes, a lake garden, sunken garden, woodland and a woodland garden. A two-acre walled garden and extensive herbaceous borders are also managed by the team of gardeners, with the entirety of the garden areas falling under management of the Head Gardener. The gardens are maintained to the highest standard and as such, applicants should be able to demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and a genuine passion for their profession.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and improvement of all the lawns within the estate. Applicants must have a strong and demonstrable background working specifically with lawns and their management, from a health and aesthetics perspective. The current in-house program includes aeration, scarification, top dressing, over-seeding, pest, disease and weed control, all of which will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.
Applicants must be fully conversant in all aspects of garden machinery in relation to lawn/turf management, i.e. cylinder mowers, ride on mowers, rotary mowers, tractors, strimmers etc. Academic horticultural qualifications in turf/lawn care are welcome but not necessary, as experience and a clear working knowledge of each aspect of the role will take priority. Candidates with PA1/PA6 spraying certificates, in addition to the above experience in lawn care, are desirable.
