The owners plan to plant more trees in the fields and gardens as well as to restore and upgrade the hedgerows around the fields and replace fencing where needed. A garden design firm has been appointed to carry out new planting schemes for the garden and grounds, with phase one being the hard landscaping works (e.g., new paths) which will be implemented this summer, and the second phase the main planting being carried out from September.

The successful applicant will be hands on and responsible for the general management and maintenance of the gardens and grounds. The garden duties include upkeep and maintenance of hedges, pathways and flower meadows, planting and upkeep of beds, borders, vegetable garden and polytunnel, pruning of fruit and other trees, harvesting and coppicing. The estate duties include arranging and overseeing maintenance of the swimming pool, overseeing and co-ordinating external contractors (burglar alarm servicing, domestic appliance servicing), art handling and picture hanging, use and maintenance of vehicles and equipment (ride-on mowers, Kubota utility vehicle, strimmers, blowers, hedge-cutters, chainsaws, etc.) and the construction, maintenance and repairs of post and rail / electric fencing.

A competitive salary is provided with the role depending on experience, 20 days paid holiday per annum and the working hours are 08:30-16:30 Monday-Friday.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual with experience in all rounded estate management and regenerative / sustainable gardening looking for an opportunity to be involved in the running of all aspects of a private estate.
