The total turnover of the Indoor department is £2.8 million, with expected growth to reach £4 million. Key responsibilities:
- Delivering exceptional customer service and achieving great sales through service.
- Giving your team a helping hand wherever required.
- Managing and inspiring a team of roughly 15 team members.
- Stock management. Buying new products, working closely with existing suppliers and our other stores to get the most out of our retail space. You will have the freedom to develop your own product ranges and categories.
- Controlling stock placement and merchandising products for the best sales.
- You’ll spend plenty of time on the shop floor, working alongside your team and other managers setting the pace and inspiring commerciality.
- You’ll be encouraged and supported to create the Midlands best Christmas displays and themes.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a knowledge of general retail operations and EPOS systems.
- Have the passion to understand the business from shop floor sales to back office jobs.

Concept work on The Shuttleworth Botanic Garden (SBG) in the Isle of Man started in
2011. The early years have allowed us to identify key elements and objectives that will
enable the accomplishment of this ambitious, international botanical landscape project.
While still in its infancy, the garden is now entering an exciting period of development.
Our botanical landscapes will provide areas in which to:
- showcase and conserve plants from temperate biomes around the world;
- study genetic diversity and the effects of climate change on plants; and
- provide fantastic educational and recreational opportunities for a wide range of
people.
Several large landscape construction projects are underway involving earth moving and
the creation of large, natural rock and water features. At the same time, other significant
landscape areas are being designed.
A new position of Landscape Manager is required to support this fundamental phase of
project implementation. Our landscapes take considerable time and care to create and
require specialist skills and dedication in our team. As Landscape Manager you will
commit to this diverse, long-term project and play an important part in realising the vision
of creating a globally recognised botanic garden in the Isle of Man.
You will hold a relevant academic qualification at level 5 (HND) or at degree level. You will
have a minimum of seven years’ experience in notable landscape, botanic or garden
projects where you have demonstrated drive and determination to succeed, willingness
to meet challenges, dynamic problem solving and proactive work planning.
The Landscape Manager needs to have a genuine passion for their work, plants and
landscapes. An inquisitive mind, attention to detail and the ability to innovate will allow
you to succeed in this role and help to develop the project and colleagues.
As a manager at the SBG, getting the best from your team and sound judgement are
important attributes. Good communication skills and the ability to lead, mentor and

As Lead Gardener at Kingairloch Estate, you will be responsible for managing the day to day running of all aspects of the walled garden to include:
- Day to day care and maintenance of herbaceous borders, box hedging, grass, cut flower patch, vegetable garden, fruit trees, fruit cages, rose borders and poly tunnel
- Planning, growing, maintenance and harvesting of produce from the garden
