Our client is an award-winning landscape company renowned for delivering exceptional outdoor spaces. They specialise in high-end landscape construction, managing projects from initial design through to completion and ongoing maintenance. Working alongside some of the country’s leading garden designers, they pride themselves on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering prestigious projects across the Southwest. They are now seeking a Hard Landscaper to join their growing team.
Role Overview
As a Hard Landscaper, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality hard landscaping projects from concept through to completion. Working on prestigious sites, you will lead by example on-site, managing both your own workload and supporting team members to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ability across all aspects of hard landscaping, combined with leadership skills and a proactive approach to site management and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality landscape construction projects based on detailed design specifications
- Lead and manage on-site activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to an exceptional standard
- Carry out all aspects of hard landscaping including brickwork, blockwork, paving, stonework (wet and drystone), and reclaimed material installation.
- Oversee groundworks, including drainage, foundations, and base preparation
- Operate and manage machinery such as excavators, dumpers, and telehandlers
- Read and interpret landscape plans and specifications accurately
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and ensuring expectations are met
- Maintain detailed project records including materials, time, and any variations
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations on-site
- Supervise and support team members, ensuring productivity and quality standards are upheld
- Maintain and safely operate tools, machinery, and equipment
- Collaborate with the wider team to deliver projects on time and to specification
Skills & Attributes
- Must have proven experience working within a hard landscaping role, with a strong background in landscape construction projects
- Previous experience working with both domestic and commercial clients, with the ability to adapt to varying project requirements
- Solid technical knowledge across hard landscaping disciplines including paving, walling, and garden structures
- Experience in groundworks including drainage, foundations, and the use of laser levels
- Competent in operating landscaping machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and landscape plans
- High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering exceptional standards
- Experience leading or supporting teams on-site, with strong organisational skills
- Confident communicator, able to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full UK driving licence (trailer experience desirable)

Based in North Dorset.
