Job Summary:
As a Plant Area Manager within this garden centre, you will lead the plant department, ensuring it reflects their commitment to offering a diverse and high-quality selection of plants. You’ll manage a team of plant enthusiasts, drive sales, and create an inspiring and customer-centric environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Inventory Management:
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of plant stock.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure a fresh and varied plant selection.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and inspire a team of plant specialists.
- Foster a culture of excellence in customer service and horticultural knowledge.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals and provide updates.
- Customer Experience:
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience through knowledgeable and friendly staff
- Implement initiatives to enhance the visual appeal and accessibility of the plant area
- Address customer inquiries and concerns with a focus on satisfaction.
- Maintain the overall aesthetics of the plant area, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Sales and Performance Metrics:
- Set and achieve sales targets for the plant department.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in plant management, horticulture, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of plants, gardening practices, and seasonal trends.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data and implement strategies for improvement.
Working Conditions:
- This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
