Nursery & Garden Centre Manager required

Our client has opened a 6-acre high end plant nursery & retail centre dedicated to growing, sourcing and supplying high quality mature trees and perennial plants The business is looking for a Nursery & Retail Centre Manager on a full-time and permanent basis and to continue to grow and drive the nursery forward.

Job Summary:

Maintain company standards: Ensure that all employees and sub-contractors maintain the high standards of the company, both in the workmanship, personal behaviors and presentation.

Customer Care – To maintain strong relationships with existing customers, deal with any issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner. Uphold the company’s high standards.

Project Management: To ensure that your projects are managed in a timely and professional manner, develop & maintain procedures and targets for your Contracts

Scheduling: Scheduling projects with the use of available technology.

Contract Paperwork & Procedures: Maintain and implement the companies Procedures

Financial – Responsibility for the maintenance of our minimum gross margin on Orders & for accurate and timely payment for all of your suppliers, as per financial control procedure.

Other duties – We provide exceptional levels of customer care and operate at the very top end of international plant supply. We operate a small business with a close team and you will be expected to assist other team members as required to ensure the smooth running of the company.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers at senior levels to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.

  • Retention rate of current customers, increased business with current customers. As per KPI’s
  • Maintain & update the reporting templates in order to ensure that all work is being completed in a timely manner. Maintain accurate information on points and time of contact.
  • Maintain the minimum gross margin for all sales. monitored by the invoice margin analysis on a weekly basis.
Key Requirements:
Skills and Attributes
  • Knowledge and Experience – Previous experience in a similar position is essential – excellent knowledge of Plants & landscape materials would be a good addition. Experience in exceptional customer care is preferred.
  • Academic/Technical Qualifications – You will have suitable qualifications in key areas possibly with a desire to further your qualifications.
  • Computer Skills – Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office – Outlook, word & excel.
  • Industry Experience Nursery management software knowledge would be good but not essential
  • Leadership/Management experience/capabilities – The ability to work alone without supervision is essential, to be a team player, set and meet targets as part of the team.
  • Communication Skills – Honest and straight forward communication is essential with our customers and team. A pleasant and positive manner with team members & Customers
  • Attitudes and Behavior – Positive Problem Owner, Ability to work well in teams, self-starter, pleasant/helpful/optimistic. Ability to go the extra mile to achieve exceptional results.
