Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

Our client is a well-established, family-run landscape development, design and installation company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Berkshire and the surrounding areas. As a result of growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to strengthen their operational teams.
The Role:
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing day-to-day grounds maintenance operations across multiple sites. You will supervise a small team typically working in pairs, ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
The position includes the use of a company van, which may be taken home (business use only.)
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading a team in day-to-day grounds maintenance activities.
- Pruning, mowing, strimming, and spraying on regularly maintained sites.
- Planting shrubs and trees and topping up mulch to beds.
- Reading and interpreting site plans.
- Signing off daily tasks and returning paperwork to your line manager.
- Taking responsibility for team performance and conduct on site.
- Ensuring all work meets company quality standards.
- Following all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Identifying upselling and business development opportunities within existing contracts.
- Travelling regularly to client sites.
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading or supervising a small team.
- Strong practical skills across maintenance disciplines.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential.)
