Maintenance Groundsperson – Suffolk

Our client is a well-established family-owned business group based near the historic market town of Woodbridge, Suffolk. The main site is a thriving commercial estate occupied by a variety of successful businesses they are committed to maintaining an attractive, safe and well-presented environment. The gardens are managed in a naturalistic style and include lawns, ornamental borders, hedgerows and informal planting.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance /Grounds person. to join a small, friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a varied, hands-on role combining grounds maintenance, estate maintenance, property maintenance.
As this role involves regular interaction with tenants, visitors, contractors. Applicants should be professional, approachable and take pride in delivering a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain grounds across all sites to an exceptional standard throughout the year.
- Monitor plant health and undertake basic pest and disease control where appropriate.
- Collect leaves and maintain paths, communal areas and external spaces.
- Operate, clean and maintain a wide range of horticultural machinery and equipment.
- Arrange servicing and repairs of machinery when required.
- Ensure all grounds remain tidy, safe and professionally presented.
Facilities & Estate Maintenance
- Maintenance of the commercial estates and residential properties.
- Undertake repairs and general handyman duties across the estate.
- Maintain fences, gates, signage and other infrastructure.
- Assist with painting, decorating and general property upkeep where required.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance and schedule servicing works.
- Ensure communal areas, car parks, access roads and external facilities remain clean, safe and well maintained.
- Support health and safety compliance across all properties.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, estate gardening, facilities maintenance, property maintenance or a similar practical role.
- Experience within commercial estates would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence is essential (a company vehicle will be provided).
- PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates are advantageous but not essential.
- Confident operating horticultural machinery and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Practical maintenance and handyman skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Able to work independently using initiative while also contributing as part of a small team.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday.
- 8:00am – 4:00pm.
