Our client is a division of a larger establishment supplying ornamental garden plants and technical expertise to the domestic landscaping market. As a result of exciting and consistent growth, they are looking to strengthen the team with a Customer Sales Advisor. Backed by its supporting nurseries with many products being able to be supplied from own-grown stock. Combined with established UK & European supplier relationships fulfilling plant requirements for leaders in the domestic garden design & domestic landscaping industry. With specific accountability for Eastern counties, applicants are likely to reside within the sales territory of the East Midlands & South East region.

 

Job Description

The successful candidate will have good plant knowledge and an understanding of the nursery industry, looking for a self-motivated individual with great communication skills and drive to succeed in a sales role. This role will involve dealing with customers in person, over the phone and via e-mail. Tasks will include pricing enquiries, prospecting for new business, securing orders and developing existing business in an agreed geographical area. IT experience is desirable, and training will be provided on their own stock system and quoting process.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing any existing domestic accounts in region.
  • Pricing incoming enquiries from customers.
  • Processing orders accordingly and efficiently.
  • Following up outstanding quotations and negotiating orders.
  • Assisting with generating new business and ensuring smooth adoption.
  • Working to and recording targets as required.
  • Gathering and sharing product and market information.

Candidate Skills

 

The right candidate will need to have good plant knowledge and an understanding of the landscape supply market. Good communication, planning, administration, and IT skills are also essential as is the ability to be a self-starter. You will have the ability to research and understand company’s products and services in order to clearly communicate the benefits in promoting with relevant prospects and generate interest as well as follow up leads.

  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Clear speaking voice and excellent listening skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of plants and ability to identify many varieties of trees and shrubs.
  • Experience of horticultural Trade Industry
  • Time and man-management Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

 

A company vehicle, laptop and mobile will be provided for this position; therefore, candidates must hold a full clean driving licence.

Our client has grown significantly over the last couple of years, employing over 30 staff, and supplying some of the country’s leading garden centres and nurseries.  This Customer Advisor role offers the chance for progression and growth within its organisation.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic horticultural sales assistant or supervisor that has strong customer service work experience to make their mark on this new and exciting vacancy. 

Customers are at the heart of what our client does.  Applicants will need to have a proven track record of providing excellent customer service, that are passionate about helping customers. The Customer Advisor position will also involve working closely with our clients’ suppliers, assisting the supply chain in a positive way, dealing with queries, orders and returns. The Customer Advisor role is a new role for our client, but it is an area of the organisation that is set to grow.  

Job Brief

As the businesses Customer Advisor, you will deliver an exceptional service to customers. Supporting the growth of our client, no two days will be the same as you work across the business. The successful candidate will need to be able to,

-Working together with the team to assist in the build/development of a pioneering online customer excellence function

-Being the face of the company to their customers, garden centre and nursery partners, building strong relationships, responding to queries, supporting the growth of the business community, and creating positive memorable experiences to enhance their experience across different communication channels, such as phone, email, whatsapp as well as on-site chat

-Working with our carrier providers to ensure seamless delivery experiences for our customers.

Key Skills

As the Customer Advisor, you’ll need have the following experience;

-A proven track record in the gardening industry: you know this environment well in terms of the products & tips on how to care for a product.

-Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

-You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

-A meticulous eye for detail and brilliant written and verbal communication skills

-A strong work ethic, a humble attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit

 Package includes:

-Salary of up to Circa £27k per annum
