Job description
Focussing on horticulture and lifestyle the Garden Centre is recruiting a Plant Area Manager to join the existing team. Playing a key role in its continued growth you will be responsible for all aspects of the outdoor retail space.
The Candidate
Will have experience of a management background and have extensive knowledge of plants, retail operations and commercial processes.
You will lead and inspire your team to develop skills that will deliver the expected standards of product quality and customer service.
Committed and hardworking you will be driven to exceed sales and increase profitability, whilst supporting other departments in striving for the overall success of the business.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Managing Director you will demonstrate extensive horticultural knowledge, have built strong working relationships within the supply chain and have the ability to deliver exceptional visual merchandising to maximise displays, and be focussed on providing a great customer experience.
You will control stock management ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time and be able to deliver appropriate strategies to resolve adverse trends and improve sales.
Effective management of the team will be essential in yours and the success of the department. Being people focussed you will have the ability to upskill your team and share knowledge.
You will be a hands on Manager working with your team and also supporting the existing Management team to achieve strong and effective working relationships.
Flexibility will be essential for this Managerial role as you will be required to attend meetings and exhibitions on and off site and will also have Centre opening and closure responsibilities.

The business is family run, whose success is reflected in its team of skilled retailers with customer service at the forefront of everything they do.
Located in the picturesque area of Monmouthshire, set in the heart of the Black Mountains, it’s location makes this a tourist destination as well as it’s regular customer base from the surrounding market towns and excellent road networks via the A465 and M4 corridor.
THE ROLE IS FULL TIME WORKING 5 DAYS OVER 7 TO INCLUDE ALTERNATE WEEKENDS FROM 09:00 TO 17:30 MONDAY TO SATURDAY AND 09:00 TO 16:30 SUNDAY. WHEN ROSTERED FOR CENTRE OPENING / CLOSING A 30 MINUTE EARLIER START / FINISH WILL BE REQUIRED.

THE SALARY
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per annum
