The company offer an end-to-end service to their clients, one that combines award winning garden design with industry leading landscaping. Earning an international reputation for understanding and interpreting ideas to create outdoor spaces beyond client imaginations and expectations, this is why they are trusted by such a collection of high-profile customers, companies, brands, and fellow professionals. As their team is expanding, they are now looking to recruit a Hard Landscape Foreman.
The Role:
Project Supervision and Management:
- Lead and supervise a team of landscapers, machine operators, and labourers.
- Ensure work is completed on time and within budget, following the project schedule.
- Coordinate with designers, clients, and management to clarify project requirements.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, addressing any queries or concerns.
- Report project progress to the site or project manager, highlighting any challenges or changes.
Quality Control and Problem Solving:
- Ensure that all hard landscaping work meets the company’s quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues or problems that arise during construction, implementing solutions quickly.
- Perform inspections at various stages of the project to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
Resource Management:
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment on-site, ensuring they are used efficiently and are available when needed.
- Coordinate deliveries of materials to ensure no project delays.
- Monitor the use of resources to avoid wastage and manage project costs effectively.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Provide guidance and support to the landscaping team, helping less experienced workers develop their skills.
- Foster a positive working environment, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, hours worked, materials used, and project progress.
- Submit daily or weekly reports on project progress to management.
Hard Landscape Foreman Key Skills:
- Academic/Technical Qualifications desirable but not essential
- Industry Experience
- Computer Skills – Excellent computer knowledge will be a big advantage, Minimum requirement is email proficiency
- Leadership/Management experience/capabilities – The ability to work alone without supervision is essential, to be a team player, set and meet targets as part of the team.
- Communication Skills – Honest and straight forward communication is essential with our customers and team. A pleasant and positive manner with team members & Customers
- Attitudes and Behavior – Positive attitude – Ability to work well in teams, self-starter, pleasant/helpful/adaptable. Willing to work on and off tool dependent on contract size.
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to go the extra mile when required to finish a job well and on time.
- Driving licence is essential – a van will be provided for work purposes
