Our client has a family run independently owned garden nursery serving the community for nearly a century. All year round there is a wonderful collection of garden plants, and within a traditional glasshouse, a large selection of house plants. The spacious shop, meanwhile, offers a wide selection of garden accessories, from seeds and irrigation kits to barbecues and designer garden furniture.
Our client is currently seeking a Plants Supervisor with both excellent product and customer service knowledge and the ability to utilise these skills effectively to maintain both a comfortable, professional, and successful working environment. You will be responsible for the effective running of the Plant area, including ordering and maintenance of the Plant within the Centre. You will be reporting to the Plantarea Manager.
Duties and responsibilities would include the following:
-Deputising for the Plant Area Manager in their absence
-Reporting directly to the Plantarea Manager and or the duty Manager and carrying out any reasonable instructions or direction given by them.
-Supervise staff to ensure they correctly carry out merchandising activities to include display and stock rotation and the marking of the prices of goods to the relevant POS.
-Ordering plant stock, to be able to utilise available statistical data to identify slow selling products and ensure there is no over ordering or stock of these items.
-Effectively merchandising all products ensuring maximum sales are achieved by developing and maintaining effective displays.
-Stock rotation, aware of the best sellers and deadlines, moves stock quickly as advised by your supervisor;
-Be knowledgeable about retail and customer service. Identifying and resolving any customer issues or problems effectively and efficiently.
-Ensure excellent communication levels are maintained between Plantarea Manager, colleagues, departments and all relevant areas of the Group and external sources.
-Good time keeping;
-Polite and helpful manor for all staff and customers;
The appointed person will have a minimum of 2 years experience working in both an outdoor and indoor plant area. Have excellent customer service levels and able to work as part of a team. Good plant identification knowledge and merchandising skills are also key.
