Our client has a family run independently owned garden centre serving the community for many years. The Garden Centre had a full renovation in 2013. Implementing high standards and competitive prices that our clients’ customers have come to enjoy and expect from the owners. The Garden Centre has a large range of products, including outdoor plants, shrubs and trees; houseplants; cut flowers and floristry; giftware and cards; garden tools; garden sundries; chemicals; toys; food; stoneware, aggregates, timber and fencing.
Our client is currently a Plants Assistant Supervisor who will support the Plantarea Manager in all daily operations.
Duties and responsibilities would include the following:
-Deputising for the Plant Area Manager in their absence
-Assisting with the day to day supervison of the team members in all regards
-Assisting with planning and delivering seasonal priority stock lines such as Christmas trees and summer bedding
-Ordering plant stock when required
-Good knowledge of all departmental items sold
-Merchandising products on the shop floor to create an inspiring and safe shopping experience
-Stock rotaion, aware of the best sellers and dead lines, moves stock quickly as advised by your supervisor;
-Excellent customer service;
-Adhering to all health and safety and follow procedures;
-Good communication with all colleagues at all levels in store;
-Good time keeping;
-Takes pride in your department;
-Polite and helpful manor for all staff and customers;
The appointed person will have a minimum of 2 years experience working in both an outdoor and indoor plant area. Have good customer service levels and able to work as part of a team. Good plant identification knowledge and merchandising skills are also key.
