PART-TIME KITCHEN GARDENER (2 days / week) REQUIRED

A vacancy has arisen on a beautiful, modern country estate near Shaftsbury, Dorset. Applicants for this role will have experience working in a private estate garden or hold a horticultural qualification.
The owners are keen to promote a friendly and rewarding working environment, so it is important that you have a positive attitude, with good communication skills and are able to get on well with all other staff members. You will be joining a team of 5 other gardeners and will report into the Head Gardener.
There is a one acre walled garden contains a wide variety of staple fruit and vegetables to supply the house with fresh fruit and vegetables. The kitchen gardener will report into the Head Gardener and will be responsible for the kitchen garden, orchard, two greenhouses and a large polytunnel. He / She will be required to carry out sowing and communicate with the house on the fruit and vegetable required throughout various times of year. The orchard contains apple trees, quinces, pears, amongst others.
SALARY: £18 – 25 per hour dependent on experience
