We’re excited to share a fantastic opportunity to join a long-established, family-run horticultural business in a key leadership role as Nursery Team Leader. Based on a beautiful 5-hectare glasshouse site, this busy wholesale nursery is dedicated to producing and supplying top-quality bedding plants to garden centres across the region.
While previous nursery experience would be a bonus, it isn’t essential. What truly matters is your ability to lead and motivate a team, stay organised in a fast-moving environment, and take a practical, hands-on approach to getting things done. Job Description:
As Nursery Team Leader, you’ll take the lead in organising and inspiring a team of up to 30 staff, creating a positive, collaborative, and productive working environment. You’ll play a key role in keeping the nursery running smoothly, overseeing the production process, coordinating order dispatches to keep everything on schedule, managing incoming deliveries, and ensuring the site is well-maintained and looking its best.
Key Skills:
The ideal candidate will have experience in team leadership within a horticultural or retail setting and be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, supervising, and motivating staff across all areas of the nursery
- Managing the loading and dispatch of deliveries to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Overseeing stock control and inventory to minimise waste and maintain availability
- Coordinating and ensuring the general maintenance of the nursery site and equipment
- Creating and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment
- Forklift license.
- 5t vehicle license.

This role offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000, depending on experience. Additionally, the role can include on-site accommodation in a spacious 5-bedroom farmhouse.
