Head of Horticulture required

An expert horticulturalist with excellent first-hand experience of running a busy public garden and managing a large successful team is sought for an exclusive vacancy as Head of Horticulture in the Southeast. Keeping to an exceptionally high standard, the presentation is of critical importance and the role requires an individual with drive, enthusiasm and a proactive can-do nature.

In return the role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to manage across a large variety of disciplines, work on new and exciting horticultural projects. Responsibilities will include strategic leadership, team leadership, personnel responsibilities, health & safety, and will also include the design, planning, implementing, overseeing, reporting as well as formulating the vision for both a diverse plant collection while building a living collection of plants that supports conservation.

The Head of Horticulture will produce annual budget projections, ensuring the operations are within the confines of agreed/authorised budgets. He / She will share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.
