Garden Centre Manager required

A NEW opportunity exists for a Garden Centre Manager to a newly acquired plant focused Centre in Warrington. Our client has considerable experience running successful plant centres. This small group of centres also have growing and productive sites, specialising in hanging baskets and pots. There is a vast range of quality stock from hardy nursery stock, bedding plants, herbaceous plants, trees and shrubs. As Garden Centre Manager you will play a vital role in delivering excellent visual merchandising standards and customer and plant care.
As the Centre Manager, you will report into the owners of the garden centre you will deliver an exceptional service to customers, ensuring the quality of the plants are presented to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have excellent horticultural knowledge, retail and managerial experience. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to;
-develop, motivate and lead your team and monitor their performance
-general day to day running of the centre including rotas, holidays, and cashing up
-supervising a team of staff
-coaching and developing the team to ensure they have the correct knowledge to fulfil the role
-monitoring and reviewing their needs and performance, providing support where necessary
-ensuring a high level of visual merchandising initiatives are implemented
-monitor sales, reports and ensure products are positioned to maximize sales
The appointed person will be a great team leader with excellent communication skills and confident to deliver a high level of customer service operating with flexibility. As the Garden Centre Manager, you’ll need have the following experience;
-Experience of manging a garden centre or a plant/nursery centre
-Excellent plant knowledge and a strong understanding of horticulture
-Experience of reporting sales/budgets to the senior managers/owners
-Experience of managing plantarea/Nursery staff
Due to our location of the centre, a driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be beneficial. A qualification in a horticultural subject would also be an advantage. If you have experience in any of the following areas we would like to hear from you.

- Salary of up to £30,000 per annum + 5% profit share of net profits
- 28 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays
