With decades of industry experience and a culture firmly focused on quality and service, our client supplies large quantities of hedges to landscapers, garden designers, builders, hotels, pub chains and also a significant proportion to retail customers across the UK and parts of Europe.
An opportunity has become available for a Centre Manager to set up and launch the cash and carry department and continue to oversee the day-to-day running of the centre, while playing an integral role in driving the business forward.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Work with management to fully set up and launch the business which will include everything from site planning and POS design to marketing strategy pre and post launch.
- Run the Centre on site from the day it launches and recruit sales team members to assist them as they are required.
- Grow the client base from ground zero by working directly with the MD to enact an outbound marketing campaign, generating opportunities and converting them into paying customers.
- Once customers start buying from the Centre, the Centre Manager will develop a loyalty programme to continue to attract returning business, building and maintaining valued relationships with the customers.
Key Skills:
The appointed person will have a positive and determined attitude and possess extensive plant knowledge with proven experience in a nursery or plantarea environment. They will ideally have a hands-on management style with the ability to multitask under pressure and enjoy building and developing relationships in the industry. The successful applicant will work with energy, pace and passion and as it is a new area of the business, the ability to be responsive to challenges and demonstrate a ‘can do’ professional and flexible approach is essential.
