They are now offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced horticulturist or plant care expert to step into a Plant Area Supervisor role, leading a busy plant department, managing staff, stock, and seasonal displays while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Role Overview
As Plant Area Supervisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers visiting the plant area. You’ll provide expert advice on plants, seasonal displays, and helping customers choose the right products while driving plant sales.
You will supervise a team, manage stock and displays, handle waste processing, and gradually take full responsibility for ordering and buying processes. This hands-on role combines horticulture expertise with garden centre supervisory experience, making it ideal for candidates looking to progress into supervisory or management position within a garden centre environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the plant area team to deliver excellent customer service every day.
- Welcome customers, provide expert advice on plants, plant care, and guide them in selecting the right products.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and visual presentation across the plant area.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with stock checks, and support waste processing.
- Identify sales opportunities, offer suitable alternatives, and maximize plant department revenue.
- Take ownership of ordering and buying processes, ensuring the area is fully stocked and seasonal displays are attractive.
- Work collaboratively with the wider garden centre team to support overall store performance and growth.

Location:
Based in South West London, Wandsworth.
