Stephen Ogilvie Garden Design are looking for experienced gardeners to join our growing horticultural team, handling a portfolio of stunning private gardens and estates in and around Edinburgh.

The successful candidates will have excellent plant identification skills, knowledge of how and when to prune shrubs and trees, how to care for herbaceous borders and experience of planting new gardens.

As this is a role for a horticulturalist, we require that candidates are qualified to at least RHS Level 2 or equivalent and preferably hold a PA1 & PA6 spraying license (or similar). Experience of horticultural equipment and a full, clean driving license is also required.

We provide a uniform, PPE and all necessary tools and equipment, as well as opportunities for additional qualifications and courses that are relevant to the role.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm. We will consider either full or part-time for the right applicant.

Due to expansion, we have a number of exciting new opportunities for Grounds Maintenance Field Estimators in our Grounds Maintenance teams across the UK.

The role;

Your key role would be to carry out onsite surveys for extra works quotations across multiple commercial sites. You will then feedback the data via our inhouse mobile app, taking photos and providing the quotation directly to our client. This will allow Ground Control to provide extra works quotations to our clients in a quick and professional manner improving customer service and maximising business opportunity.

Who are we looking for?

We’d love to hear from candidates who are looking for their next step within Grounds Maintenance and or Horticulture. You could be an existing Team Leader or Supervisor in the industry or a junior Contract Manager looking to focus on the quotation side of the role. Whatever your current role you will need previous experience of quoting within a Grounds Maintenance environment.

In addition; you must be able to;

Key Requirements:

-Travel independently to multiple sites daily.

-Hold a full, clean UK Driving/Motorcycle licence.

-Able to work safely within guidance and legislation.

-Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

-Ability to accurately record data via a mobile device
