Maydencroft Horticulture/Landscape Operative - Apprenticeship

Maydencroft offers a Horticulture Apprenticeship level 2  through Shuttleworth college . Successful applicants would be offered the opportunity to be employed as a Landscape Operative, duration of the course is 24 months.  College attendance is once a week at Shuttleworth College with a Year 1 Salary is £8,580 per year.

 

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, which could include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining health and safety
  • Maintaining and developing personal performance
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
  • Clearing horticultural and landscaping sites
  • Maintain moisture levels for crops or plants
  • Provide nutrients to crops or plants

Horticulture/Landscape Operative

Could be employed to work in public parks and gardens, green spaces and historic gardens, private gardens and estates or in production nurseries and retail outlets. Many businesses will be specialised in their activities, such as grounds maintenance (soft-landscape) or landscape construction (hard-landscape). Soft-landscaping includes the establishment and maintenance of plants and cultivated areas. Hard-landscaping includes establishment of hard surfaces and structures in addition to the establishment of plants in cultivated areas.

      • This course is for operatives employed to work in public parks and gardens, green spaces and historic gardens, private gardens and estates or in production nurseries and retail outlets, including soft and hard landscaping. This role manages a site with minimum supervision. The course covers:
