Our client is a specialist dealer of arboricultural and firewood machinery and equipment and are well established in the industry. They are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Arboricultural Sales Person to join their busy team.

Key points

You will report directly to the Sales Director, working from a combination of your home office and the local depot (Cannock or Leeds). You will be responsible for planning your own time to make sure you hit your sales targets.

Ideally, this is a full time role but we pride ourselves on being a very flexible employer. We love to get applications from people with a diverse range of backgrounds.

Head Gardener - Live In - EC3481

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Gardener to join a beautiful private family estate near the historic market town of Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  This position comes with a 3 bedroom cottage.  The position would suit a qualified and time-served Head Gardener looking to impart their knowledge for the benefit of a small team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for one full-time and one part-time gardener on the five acre private property.  The garden comprises of terraced and walled gardens with lawns, mixed borders, roses, a kitchen garden, climbers and hedges of various sizes and species.

The role will entail management of the small team in terms of direction, supervision, scheduling of work and mentoring as necessary.  This is a hands-on position so you will be expected to undertake typical gardening tasks alongside your team, though the primary focus of the position is to utilise your knowledge by way of providing horticultural guidance.  As Head Gardener, you will also work with the estate team with regard to staffing, overall garden planning and management.

Applicants must possess good working and theoretical horticultural knowledge including propagation and seasonal plant management.  Applicants should have good plant identification skills and demonstrable experience of working on private estates at Senior or Head Gardener level.  A chainsaw license (CS30/31) and spraying certificates (PA1/PA6) are desirable but not essential, but a full and current driving licence is required.

Working hours are 08:00 to 17:00 Monday – Friday, with the usual requirement for overtime between spring and autumn.  Applicants must be willing to work in all weather conditions, be physically fit, and have a strong work ethic.  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head Gardener, Senior Gardener, Horticulturist or tutor, looking for a rewarding hands-on role in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  A three bedroom cottage is included as part of this generous offering, with rent paid by the client.

The aim of this position is to oversee the installation of mature plants grown by the Company on sites throughout the Yorkshires / North Lincolnshire and occasionally the Durham region. The Manager will be responsible for taking confirmed projects from the salesman to completion and hand over ensuring good customer care through out, that invoicing is completed correctly in a timely manner and that the client is aware of any future maintenance needs. The salesman will be expected to supply all the necessary information to implement the project on the ground. The Manager will then be responsible for programming the works and coordinating all equipment and sundries such as diggers, trees guards, stakes that are required on the site. The manager will be responsible for bringing projects in on time and to budget and for reporting compliance. The Manager will also be responsible for all replacement planting under the Company’s guarantee programme.
