KEY PURPOSE

The Junior Consultant is an important role within the team, reporting directly to the Senior Consultant. Job Brief

Expansion of the company requires the strengthening of the delivery teams on site with the appointment of a Hard Landscaper for projects predominantly in West London.

Your role will be to create and maintain a positive and pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organisational effectiveness, communication, and safety.  The suitable candidate’s responsibilities will involve assisting the workforce, from direct employees, sub-contract labour, agency workers and specialist sub-contractors in relation to steelworks, lighting, water-features, timber fabrication, Arboriculturists and other trades as required. With tasks including site preparation, brick, and blockwork to paving and ensuring work is completed in a timely manner to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate should have at least 10 years’ experience in landscaping in a luxury market, or 5 years in a similar role.  Existing skills should include a CSCS card. However, training can be provided.

Candidate Skills

Ultimately the Hard Landscaper should be able to assist in the smooth running of the construction site and contribute to the timely completion of the project to the required standard. Strong organisational skills and time management along with a natural proficiency in written and verbal communication will be an integral part of the successful candidate’s skill set as well as being able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Monday to Friday 08:00am – 4:30pm

Senior Gardener

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Gardener with the enthusiasm for maintaining a beautiful private estate in the grounds of an impressive 16th century Grade I listed property to a high standard, based near the market town of Tavistock. The position is full time, permanent and would suit a friendly and knowledgeable all rounded gardener with experience at senior level.

The beautiful 550-acre estate includes organic grassland, walled gardens, lush pasture, heath land designated as a site of special scientific interest, lakes and banks of woodland to the river Tavy in the valley below. The 12 acre (and growing) formal garden surrounding the main house comprising wildflower meadows, azaleas, rhododendrons, a rose garden full of climbers, floribundas, Hybrid Tea and shrub with scented varieties, an orchard and a variety of mature trees.

The Senior Gardener will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a friendly disposition. They will have excellent horticultural knowledge, high working standards and be able to work using their own initiative both as part of a team and individually. The successful applicant will join a small team overseeing one other team member and a part time gardener. They will be responsible for planning and prioritising the garden work schedule and ensure that they are compliant with Health and safety at all times.

Candidates will ideally hold a horticultural qualification and/or experience working in a diverse estate garden. Spray certificates PA1/PA6 and chainsaw would be desirable but not essential as training can be given. A driving licence is required due to the rural location of the property.

The accommodation provided is a semi-detached farmhouse with two bedrooms. Partners and children are welcome however, no pets. The rent and bills such as council tax, water, electricity and internet are paid by the employer.

Job Description:

The company is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic person with a natural sales ability to join the designer sales & marketing team. You will be involved in the day-to-day processing of sales enquiries and estimates, their follow-up and successful conversion through to order. The ability to focus on delivering company targets and margins while maintaining the standards demanded by the client is key.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will take responsibility for the account management of a selected range of clients, seeking out profitable new business and developing existing relationships within an agreed framework. As an ideal candidate you will have extensive sales and customer service experience and a good understanding of the landscape supply market. You will be self-motivated, efficient, and methodical with very good organisational, communication and IT skills.

As part of the designer sales and marketing team, the successful candidate will also play a significant role in how to create, shape and communicate the company’s marketing content.

Good plant knowledge and great attention to detail are essential. A clean driving licence would also be beneficial. Full induction training will be provided for the role. Normal working hours are 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (Saturday morning working and working additional hours may be necessary during peak times).

Key role responsibilities include:
  • Taking responsibility for a range of key accounts to nurture and develop mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Taking enquiries from clients by phone or email, processing the enquiry or forwarding on where outside the brief of the team
  • Issuing sales estimates and orders through our business management system SAP B1, maintaining responsibility for those transactions through the process

Groundsperson

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a hands-on and all rounded Groundsperson on a full-time basis at a wonderful country estate in Surrey.

They should have the determination and drive to ‘get the job done’ to a high standard and be prepared to work outside in all weathers.  

The owners are keen to promote a friendly and rewarding working environment, so it is important that you have a positive attitude, with good communication skills and are able to get on well with all other staff members. The successful applicant will have a dynamic and flexible approach as assistance may be required in other areas of the estate.

This role is a live out position, therefore the applicant will need to hold a full driving license and personal mode of transportation due to the location of the estate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Gardener with experience in garden maintenance to a high horticultural standard.

The beautiful all-seasons garden comprises of herbaceous and mixed borders with a vast array of ornamental species, including a vegetable garden, blue garden and a red garden, rose garden, lawn, arboretum with specimen oaks, and a woodland area.

Applicants for the gardener role will have experience and preferably hold horticultural qualification. Experience will include pruning, planting, propagating, growing as well as general garden maintenance including mowing, weeding, strimming and hedge cutting. In addition, the gardener will have good practical skills, be hands on, backed up with plant knowledge.

This is a live in or live out position. The accommodation provided is a lovely newly refurbished 2-bed accommodation and would be available free of all expenses for the right candidate. Animal lovers, but regrettably no pets of their own.

For the couple’s role, the partner would be employed as a second gardener or as a housekeeper. Duties under the responsibility of the housekeeper will consist of the upkeep of the main house by way of cleaning and maintaining to a very high standard, some laundry, shopping, some cooking desirable. At least one of the applicants must be a driver.

For the Gardener, working hours are anticipated to be Monday to Fridays 8am -5pm. The Housekeeper will be expected to work some weekends with time off during the week instead.

Candidate Skills
