Role Overview:

We are seeking a Plant Area Manager with expert horticultural knowledge and management experience for our Old Barn Garden Centre situated in the heart of Sussex. The purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day operation of the plant area, to maximise profitable sales whilst maintaining a high standard of plant care and customer service. It is vital to foster positive working relationships among the team and create a productive working environment.

Description

  • Demonstrating excellent commercial awareness and understanding of profitability from driving retail sales while controlling stock levels and other costs.
  • Ordering of products in association with the Group Buyer, our own wholesale Nursery, and other growers to acquire stock and maximise sales and profit.
  • Training and managing at all levels to ensure the team are maintaining the highest quality plants for sale and delivering first-class customer service.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment for our colleagues and customers ensuring the compliance with Tates Health and Safety Policy.

  • Meticulous attention to detail

Full time with alternate weekend working rota

Salary: Up to £39,000 + Relocation package
