Our client is a garden design, landscape build and maintenance company with over 25 years’ experience and work on varied projects from residential garden design to sizeable commercial landscape projects. They have opened a 6-acre high end plant nursery & retail centre dedicated to growing, sourcing and supplying high quality mature trees and perennial plants; and now seek a Sales Manager to join the team.

An important part of the business is developing a strong relationship and collaborating with a range of commercial referral partners such as architects, property managers, hotels and garden designers, which is central to the role of the Sales Manager.

Job Summary:

The role of the B2B Sales Manager is to;

  1. Identify viable prospects in accordance with the business’ agreed customer personas, across their main service areas (Design, Build, Maintenance & Nursery) and selected regions with the Ireland
  2. Develop ideal prospects and leads into potential opportunities by way of consultation on site.
  3. Use initiative & deliver proactive activity on a weekly basis that will build a viable sales pipeline for the business, across our main service areas for and work with the marketing department to develop & nurture prospects into project opportunities.
  4. Use, maintain and manage the CRM system that is in place (Copper)
  5. Adhere to a clear, managed process for the sales funnel activity, from lead to customer

In summary, this will involve;

Sales Pipeline development

To deliver proactive sales activity on a weekly basis. This could involve anything from prospecting on LinkedIn, Instagram and a third-party database to making calls and sending emails. The overall aim of the sales role is to prospect and develop a viable pipeline of suitable opportunities for the business across the main service areas. Prospects/Leads will be mainly commercial contacts such as Architects, Property Managers, Designers, Hospitality Owner/Manager, Hotels & Golf Clubs. However, from time to time, there will also be residential leads to follow up with. A set criterion for leads will also be provided and also a full set of marketing tools are in place such as a website, brochures, social media channels and a CRM.

CRM Management
Our client uses CRM for marketing, sales & project management. Part of this role will involve using this on a weekly basis. For example, keeping all essential data maintained, activity progress and reporting. Regular liaison with our Managing Director, Financial Controller & Marketing Manager on all activity will also be required.

Weekly Reports

Weekly reports to the team will be required to ensure full visibility of ongoing sales activity. These will entail elements such as activity undertaken, pipeline development, conversion rates etc.

Other duties
Our client operates a small business with a close team and you will be expected to assist other team members as required to ensure the smooth running of the company.

Key Requirements:

Skills and Attributes

  • Knowledge and Experience – Previous Sales experience in Ireland or the UK. Specific experience of sales in the Horticulture industry.
  • Computer Skills – Excellent knowledge Microsoft office, word & excel and previous experience in using a CRM system.
  • Industry Experience – 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience/capabilities – The ability to work alone without supervision is essential. In addition to being a team player, set and meet targets as part of the team.
  • Communication Skills – Honest and straight forward communication is essential and a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Attitudes and Behavior – Ability to work well in teams, self-starter, pleasant/ helpful /optimistic.

SALARY:   circa  €60,000
