Our client is home to a highly qualified team of landscapers who undertake high-end projects throughout the Oxfordshire region. They are currently seeking a Hard Landscape Project Manager to support the Contracts Managers on domestic and some small commercial projects.

Also, in the landscapes department our client has teams of garden designers, soft landscapers and maintenance gardeners. Elsewhere in the company our client has a Forestry department and operates a successful nursery over 22 acres and is devoted to growing a large range of excellent quality trees, shrubs and hedging which is open to the public.  The retail side includes a yurt café.

Job Description :

The job objective is to assist the Landscape Contracts Managers in all they do to make jobs run more smoothly.

A commercial overview must be kept at all stages of the project and a polite manner used at all times when dealing with customers and work colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a professional, knowledgeable approach to clients as you will be one of the first points of contact.
  • Prepare bills of quantities and quotations for landscape work in conjunction with designer – including researching new methods/products.
  • Procure samples for client approval and deal with customer queries throughout -including beyond completion.
  • Set up project with team, machinery and materials, assist with setting out on site.
  • Delivery to and assisting on site if required.
  • Re-measure on completion for valuation and feed back to analysis of job costing.
  • Ordering materials.
  • Assisting with invoice queries.
  • Point of contact for non-design jobs. Advise and quote if appropriate work.
  • All activities to be carried out with a clear commercial objective.
  • To deal with customers, colleagues and visitors in a helpful and friendly way.
  • General duties to Nicholsons as required by the company.

Key Skills

Candidates will ideally have good experience in construction, with a good eye for detail and strong work ethic. They must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of delivering high quality projects.

Good office and IT skills are an essential requirement for this role.

A current driving licence is essential.

A current CSCS card is also desirable.
