Bedding Plant Grower required

Our client has a family owned and run business which has been growing plants since the 1950’s. The Nursery grows 750,000 plants annually in their modern nursery production area. Bedding plants grown include primulas, pansies, geraniums, petunia, fuchsias, cyclamen and senetti as well as a few perennials. They are currently seeking an experienced Grower of Bedding plants to work closely with the owners.

Do you have a genuine interest in plants and experience of growing within a commercial environment?

Key points
  • Operating nursery machinery such as potting machine, seeder & transplanting machine
  • General maintenance and care to include watering, irrigation, pruning and propagation
  • Grading and sorting of plants as required
  • Assist in the day to day supervision of the nursery team
  • Deputising for the nursery production manager in their absence
Must haves
  • Experience of working in a production nursery or similar environment
  • Excellent bedding plant knowledge
  • Flexibility to work varied hours according to seasonal requirements
  • Pest and Disease control preferred, although training can be given
