This new Trials Coordinator job requires the successful candidate to be responsible for the set-up, running and reporting of all plant trials allowing the nursery to make an informed assessment on commercial viability. This will include the need for excellent written, electronic and photographic record keeping. The Trials Coordinator will work with the Trials Supervisor to ensure plants are grown in accordance with nursery standards and that the correct environmental controls are in place to ensure good crop health. The Trials Coordinator will also work with the Plant Breeder to ensure new varieties are trialled in a timely fashion.
Our client is a well established Nursery producing £7.5 million quality plants across 2000 different varieties. The nursery group have been prolific plant breeders for many years and have brought to market many exclusive varieties. They are currently seeking 2 x team leaders to lead and supervise a range of production-related teams. This will involve, cultural, growing and dispatch activities across the business as departmental pressures fluctuate.

-Excellent communication skills
-IT Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
-Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills
-Proven experience of accurate record keeping
-Proven knowledge of plant growing, ideally in a commercial environment
-Professional qualification or degree in a horticultural subject would be desirable
-Logical, methodical, accurate and organised
-Motivated completer finisher
-Good at listening and open to new ideas
Location: West Sussex
Salary: c£25,000 doe
