With more than 60 years’ experience in the sector, is a horticulture wholesale nursery producing over 2.2 million shrubs, herbaceous and perennial plants per year across their production sites. They have now grown to become one of the leading suppliers to the British landscaping industry. The company is known for its forward-thinking ethos which has allowed them to stay ahead of landscape fashions and trends and become pioneers in plant health management and environmental expertise. Their clients include a wide range of commercial and domestic customers including landscape architects and designers, local authorities, housing projects and nurseries. As a result of continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their team and currently have a vacancy for an experienced, work from home, Sales Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join a dynamic and successful company and to develop skills within the horticultural industry.

Job Description

This role will involve dealing with customers on a daily basis in person, over the phone and via e-mail and will involve pricing enquiries, prospecting for new business and developing existing business in an agreed geographical area. Main duties and responsibilities will include:

-To adopt and grow a base of existing amenity accounts.

-To price incoming enquires from customers.

-To process orders accordingly and efficiently.

-To follow up outstanding quotations and negotiate orders.

-Assist with generating new business and insure smooth adoption.

-Work to and record targets as required.

-Meet with clients and suppliers both on and off site in the UK & abroad as required.

-Contacting suppliers for prices and information.

-Handling queries & complaints.

-Gathering and sharing product and market information.

Candidate Skills

The right candidate will need to have good plant knowledge and an understanding of the landscape supply market. Good communication, planning, administration, and IT skills are also essential as is the ability to be a self-starter. You will have the ability to research and understand company’s products and services in order to clearly communicate the benefits in promoting with relevant prospects and generate interest as well as follow up leads.

-Ability to work on own initiative

-Clear speaking voice and excellent listening skills

-Ability to work to tight deadlines.

-Knowledge of plants and ability to identify many varieties of trees and shrubs.

-Experience of horticultural Trade Industry

-Time and man-management Skills

-Excellent customer service skills

A company vehicle, laptop and mobile will be provided for this position; therefore, candidates must hold a full clean driving licence.
