Assistant Nursery Manager
Our client is an independent retail plant nursery set up by an award-winning company based in Berkshire. Specialising in specimens and mature plants and pride themselves on exceptional customer service and top-quality plants, with a large and varied stock of approximately £350,000. This plant nursery now has the opportunity for an experienced nursery manager to join the team and create a real difference in a well-established and growing business.
The assistant manager will be responsible for the leading and motivating of a small but driven team of plants people, offering plant advice to, and assisting customers with any purchasing needs in person and via telephone/email. Managing the goods in from suppliers and out to the customer base, label printing for new stock and ensuring the stock levels are accurately maintained. Managing the EPOS system (experience is beneficial but training will be provided).
The successful candidate will have an extensive horticultural knowledge and proven managerial experience ideally within a horticultural context such a plant nursery. Be able to demonstrate professionalism with an enthusiastic and flexible approach, attention to detail and forward thinking. The ability to motivate the team to achieve a consistently high standard of work and customer service. Strong people management, understanding the importance of monitoring and maintaining Health & Safety. Understanding efficient planning, organisation and prioritisation, excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
