Job Description:
As Nursery Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team within the nursery areas, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and in line with company procedures. Working closely with the Nursery Manager and Assistant Nursery Manager, you will take a proactive, hands-on approach to crop care, staff supervision, and operational planning.
Key Skills:
You will play a key role in maintaining plant health and quality, coordinating customer orders, overseeing stock movements, and ensuring Health & Safety standards are consistently met. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and organise a team to meet production targets and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading, supervising, and motivating nursery staff to achieve daily and seasonal objectives.
• Working hands-on with the team across plant maintenance, production, and despatch operations.
• Communicating with management and sales teams to support planning and workflow across nursery areas.
• Monitoring crops for quality, pest and disease, irrigation, and general plant health, escalating issues as required
• Leading the picking, packing, and preparation of customer orders, ensuring quality standards and specifications are met.
• Accurately recording stock movements.
• Implementing and maintaining plant health, assurance schemes, and integrated crop.
