The company founder comes with over 25 years’ experience of delivering exceptional garden maintenance services across Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. They are now seeking a Maintenance Gardener to assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the various sites

Job Brief

Our client is looking for a friendly, motivated, and reliable candidate to become part of the Maintenance department and contribute to the quality of the service they provide and professionally represent the company. The client is looking for a suitable candidate to help the owners develop the business and eventually move into a team leader role after a period of good performance. The role will involve tending to numerous gardens and grounds on a scheduled, rotational basis; operating from the company offices and depot and will be involved in a range of soft landscaping activities which include:

  • Lawn maintenance and care including aeration and scarification
  • Border maintenance
  • Pruning and seasonal planting
  • Weed and moss control
  • Hedge cutting
  • Pond maintenance
  • Additional ad-hoc jobs where required
Key Responsibilities

A suitable candidate will have prior experience working within the ground’s maintenance environment.

-Deliver first quality maintenance on sites to their specification in a timely and efficient manner

-Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team and be able to follow instructions

-Show a good understanding of all health and safety regulations, and always adhering to them.

-Being able to confidently deal with horticultural maintenance matters on site.

-The client emphasises the need for excellent communication skills to successfully engage with customers, clients, and team members.

Candidate Skills

This role entails being the representative of the company on the ground and will need to conduct yourself that portrays the business in accordance with its values and approach at all times. This is also a route for someone who is ambitious to join a progressive company and to showcase and develop their horticultural skills.

The ideal candidate will hold:

-A full UK manual driving licence (required).

-Experience working within a similar environment

-Good horticultural knowledge and plant identification skills

-Experience using a range of machinery

A horticultural qualification is desirable, but not essential.

Working hours will be 07:00-16:30/17:00 Monday to Friday. Company uniform will be provided, as well as paid travel time between clients.
