Hard Landscape Foreman: Our client is an award-winning garden design and build company established in 2000. Specialising in high-end residential gardens, the company offers a full range of bespoke landscaping services—from concept and design through to construction and long-term maintenance. Their comprehensive services encompass bespoke garden designs, meticulous construction, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring each project reflects the client’s vision and is built to endure.

Their work has garnered significant recognition, being showcased in various magazines and television programmes, and earning numerous industry awards. Notably, they have collaborated with some of the country’s top garden designers, two of whom achieved gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Job Description:

Expansion of the company requires the strengthening of the management teams on site with the appointment of a new Hard Landscape Foreman for projects predominantly in and around London. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

Project Supervision and Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of landscapers, machine operators, and labourers.
  • Ensure work is completed on time and within budget, following the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with designers, clients, and management to clarify project requirements.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Report project progress to the site or project manager, highlighting any challenges or changes.

Quality Control and Problem Solving:

  • Ensure that all hard landscaping work meets the company’s quality standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues or problems that arise during construction, implementing solutions quickly.
  • Perform inspections at various stages of the project to ensure compliance with design and specifications.

Resource Management:

  • Manage materials, tools, and equipment on-site, ensuring they are used efficiently and are available when needed.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials to ensure no project delays.
  • Monitor the use of resources to avoid wastage and manage project costs effectively.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Provide guidance and support to the landscaping team, helping less experienced workers develop their skills.
  • Foster a positive working environment, promoting teamwork and efficiency.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, hours worked, materials used, and project progress.
  • Submit daily or weekly reports on project progress to management.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within high-end domestic landscaping
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings
  • Excellent knowledge of hard landscaping techniques, materials, and tools
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients and colleagues
  • High level of attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
  • Full UK driving licence (required)
  • CSCS card and relevant qualifications (preferred)

SALARY:        circa £48,000 DOE
