Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

Our client is an established landscape company based near Reading in Berkshire which provides a range of landscaping and grounds maintenance services to their clients. Their customer base is spread throughout Berkshire and surrounding counties including Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire and includes both commercial companies and homeowners.

The company are in search of a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to take day to day responsibility for supervising a dedicated maintenance team of 2, working for both commercial and domestic customers. This will involve managing standards, supervising work and providing on-site training. Other specific responsibilities will include:

-Planning and organising work schedules and resources.

-Ensuring work is completed safely, to the quality expected, and within agreed time frames.

-Ensure all equipment and machinery is well maintained and in good working order.

-Provide training to team members as and when required.

-To establish and maintain good working relationships with customers

This is a hands-on role and it is important therefore that candidates should have good technical and practical skills in grounds and garden maintenance including: mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, general garden clearance, pruning, planting, bed preparation etc.

Applicants must be hardworking and reliable, have good leadership and problem solving and communication skills, and must have the ability to plan and organise work making the most effective use of resources.  A full UK driving licence is essential, and a horticultural qualification Level 2 or above highly desirable.
