Our client, a well-established and family-run garden centre and nursery, is currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Weekend Garden Centre Assistant to join their friendly team. This role is key in supporting the Duty Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the garden centre, particularly during the busy weekend trading period. Working Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday — with the possibility of some flexibility to suit the right candidate.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone with excellent customer service skills, and a proactive attitude. Whether you’re already experienced or looking to develop your skills further, full training will be provided where necessary.

Key responsibilities:

  • Potting and general maintenance of the plants.
  • Good customer service and help with plant-based queries.
  • Ordering and restocking plants and sundries,
  • General Housekeeping around the centre
  • Till operation/cash handling.
  • General maintenance & DIY.
  • Unloading deliveries and getting stock out for sale
  • Operating forklift (training can be provided)
