An excellent opportunity to join a small and friendly team as Garden Centre Assistant Manager has arisen in West London, for an award-winning family-owned business. The beautiful site includes a popular café and an area focusing on houseplants, as well as two retail shop spaces and a lovely outdoor plant area.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a strong horticulturist with retail management experience. Emphasis here is on horticultural knowledge, as the Centre’s customers remain loyal due to consistent and excellent service, including horticultural advice from the team, all of whom remain hands-on and customer facing.
Suitable candidates will have relevant managerial / supervisory level garden centre retail experience as well as strong horticultural knowledge and relevant academic RHS qualifications. Houseplants are a significant growth area for the business so applicants with knowledge and an interest in this area are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have effective people management skills with the ability to inspire and lead by example. Exemplary customer service skills are an essential requirement.

The position is permanent, full time, and will require the postholder to work alternate weekends. The standard working week consists of 45-hours including a 30-minute lunch break. 28-days’ holiday are offered, though annual leave is not to be taken in April, May or June, or the first few weeks of December due to the nature of the role and traditionally busy times of year.
