Our client is an organisation that is well established with an accredited reputation within the landscaping industry. They are seeking to develop a co-ordinated National Education and Careers Outreach Programme, to encourage interested parties, in developing an understanding and interest of educational projects along with a new career within the sector. The priority is to engage with key audiences such as students, parents and careers changes. The Education Officer’s key responsibility   is to contribute to creating training and development programmes both internally and externally with the company.

Key Responsibilities:

-Raise awareness of careers in the landscape industry via campaigns directed at pupils, teachers, career advisors and others

-To keep up to date with government policy on education and skills training as well as considering the governments skills and education agenda.

-To take part in a review and development of existing and new horticulture and landscaping courses and qualifications

-To maintain and develop close partnerships with school and colleges, producing reports and statistics as required

-Work to within agreed budgets and contribute to the budget development process along with collating feedback and provide reports and presentations to the Chief Executive

Key Skills:

-A demonstrable track record of education provision in a landscaping and horticulture context

-Understanding of horticulture and landscape education syllabuses

-Effective management of staff & volunteers

-Landscaping/horticulture qualifications

The successful applicant:

Our client is looking for enthusiastic, passionate candidates who have excellent presentation and communication skills, verbal and written. The ideal candidate will be a people person, well-mannered and a team player that is self-motivative. Must be a creative and inspiring person with a willingness to travel to implement roles objectives.


This role is a full time, permanent position and the hours of work are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. It is unlikely to need to work bank holidays/weekends unless an event falls on these days that the ‘Education Officer’ is required to attend. An electric company vehicle will be provided for travel to work related activities. Other benefits include a Healthshield Cash Plan and a company pension scheme and 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
